I have ideas every now and then. Ideas that I almost never make into reality. I will share some of the ideas I have had over the years below. Perhaps I can make use of it when I have the courage to make them real.
As a 2nd year university student, I was super pumped about Maglev. The fact that it can be made possible on a small scale rail track- the idea that alternating currents on the track and a magnet on board the train could propel the train forward made me go almost crazy! I think when I was younger, I used to sketch bridges and figure out ways to make them more efficient, generate energy out of it, help ways reduce pollution. I'm not sure where I got those from. I think some of my GI Joe toys had like specs on them and I liked having specs on my sketches as well.
I've stopped sketching. I think I've sort of stopped dreaming as well. I hate writing that's for sure. I can't believe people actually need to write stuff to make things happen. Kinda crazy. I really really like what Elon Musk is doing with Tesla and Paypal and Space X. Its like he goes finding all the problems the world has and then goes about figuring out a way to solve them. One of his mantras was "read". Read like crazy. Apparently that helps.
Anyway, back to them ideas
1) Vertical wind mills on the corners of buildings to generate extra power.
I would like to experiment on this first. Maybe get a central rotor attached with fins that are super light. The fins would be exposed to the wind and the jutting out of the building corner. They've got to be feather light and some of magnet. The half hollow cylinder that it is attached to has got to have strips of copper going from north to south. When the wind blows, the magnetic fins rotate and generate electricity that it transmits . So imagine multiple rotors along a tube that does just this. I'm already thinking of some flaws like would the rotor be attached to the tube? Or maybe its just got to be at that perfect position between two magnets, neither too high nor too low. Anyway that was the idea
2) I wanted to create an electrostatic precipitator(EP) for cars. It would completely cut down as much micro particles from the air as possible. Also wondering if this will create ozone- will this be a bad thing? The EP would be a plug in plug out modular device. It may have to be battery operated or directly from the car. I'm not sure how it would work- theres a guy on youtube that I had read about who had thought of the same thing and had experimented on it but hadnt actually worked on this design.
3) Organics policies. I want cities to have a by-law where by restaurants could charge people to waste food. Imagine people don't eat all their food, now that's an additional cost to the restaurant to dispose off. Might as well charge them for it- that will pay for the cost of disposal as well.
